Microsorum ‘Thor’s Hammer’ is a rare and visually striking Java Fern cultivar distinguished by its thick, compact leaves and unique hammer-shaped tips. Like other Microsorum varieties, Thor’s Hammer is a rhizome plant and should be attached to hardscape rather than planted in substrate. It is extremely hardy, tolerant of a wide range of water parameters, and thrives in low to medium light without the need for CO₂—making it suitable for beginners as well as advanced aquascapers.

Its slow to moderate growth and tough leaves make it an excellent choice for community tanks, shrimp aquariums, and setups with fish that may nibble on softer plants.

Planting & Care Tips

Attach to rocks or driftwood using thread or aquarium-safe glue. Do not bury the rhizome, as this may cause rot. Occasional liquid fertilization will support healthier growth and improved coloration.
